PYRAMID MICROSCOPE COLLECTION

Where Invention, Science & Sculpture Meet

A Unique Artistic Instrument Created for Microscopic Art

The Pyramid Microscope is an original artistic concept by Yin Hua Jin, created to complement and reveal his extraordinary microscopic artworks.

Designed in the form of a pyramid and conceived as both a functional viewing instrument and a sculptural artwork, the Pyramid Microscope represents a meeting point between art, invention, precision craftsmanship and microscopic vision.

It was originally conceived in 1998 in connection with Yin Hua Jin's microscopic hair-art exhibitions.

Today, the original concept is being developed into a limited collection of individually commissioned Pyramid Microscopes, created in exceptional materials for private collectors, institutions and distinguished collections.

THE IDEA

The Instrument Is Also the Artwork

Yin Hua Jin's paintings on a single human hair are created at a scale that cannot be fully appreciated by the naked eye.

The microscope therefore became an essential part of the artistic experience.

Instead of placing an ordinary laboratory microscope beside the artwork, Jin created a microscope with an artistic architectural form.

The result is both:

A microscope for viewing microscopic art

and

A sculptural work of art in its own right.

The Pyramid Microscope transforms the act of observation into a collectible artistic experience.

The artwork is microscopic.
The instrument reveals it.
The instrument itself becomes art.

A PYRAMID OF ART, SCIENCE & VISION

The pyramid has been used throughout human history as a symbol of structure, permanence, precision and aspiration.

For Jin, the pyramid form provides a natural architectural body for an instrument dedicated to seeing what the human eye normally cannot see.

The Pyramid Microscope brings together three worlds:

ART

The microscopic artwork.

SCIENCE

Magnification and microscopic observation.

SCULPTURE

The physical form and materials of the Pyramid Microscope.

Together they create a new artistic experience:

MICROSCOPIC ART + ARTISTIC INSTRUMENT + SCULPTURE

THE COLLECTION

Five Artistic Editions

Each Pyramid Microscope can be individually commissioned and customized in materials, dimensions and artistic details.

01 — COPPER PYRAMID MICROSCOPE

The Original Artistic Expression

The Copper Edition represents the original character of the Pyramid Microscope.

Copper provides a warm, historic and sculptural appearance, allowing the instrument to feel simultaneously like an artistic object and a precision instrument.

Standard size:
12 × 12 × 8 inches

Custom dimensions may be commissioned.

For collectors who value:

  • Originality
  • Sculpture
  • Industrial craftsmanship
  • The history of the Pyramid Microscope concept
  • Microscopic art

02 — WHITE MARBLE PYRAMID MICROSCOPE

A Monument in Marble

White marble introduces the language of classical sculpture and architecture.

The combination of the pyramid form and white marble creates a powerful connection between ancient sculpture and modern microscopic vision.

Each piece may reveal the natural characteristics and patterns of the individual stone.

A work designed for:

Private residences
Art collections
Museum environments
Architectural collections
Distinguished interiors

03 — BLACK MARBLE PYRAMID MICROSCOPE

Elegance, Depth & Permanence

Black marble gives the Pyramid Microscope a completely different presence.

Its dark surface creates a dramatic contrast with the precision of the optical instrument and the microscopic artwork viewed through it.

The Black Marble Edition is conceived for collectors seeking a more formal and powerful sculptural statement.

Private Commission

Each sculpture may be customized in size and material according to the collector's requirements.

04 — CRYSTAL PYRAMID MICROSCOPE

Light Becomes Part of the Artwork

Crystal introduces transparency, reflection and light into the Pyramid Microscope.

The pyramid form becomes a sculptural object in which light interacts with the structure while the microscope remains dedicated to microscopic observation.

The Crystal Edition explores the relationship between:

Light → Vision → Magnification → Art

It is conceived as an especially distinctive piece for a contemporary art collection.

05 — JEWELRY PYRAMID MICROSCOPE

The Ultimate Collectible Expression

The Jewelry Edition transforms the Pyramid Microscope into an exceptional luxury art object.

Depending on the commission, the sculpture may incorporate:

  • Precious metals
  • Fine gemstones
  • Crystal
  • Diamonds
  • Handcrafted decorative elements

The precise materials and design are individually determined with the collector.

This is not intended as an ordinary scientific instrument.

It is conceived as:

A Functional Artistic Sculpture

created for an extraordinary private collection.

FROM MICROSCOPE TO SCULPTURE

The Pyramid Microscope should not be understood simply as a decorative microscope.

Its purpose is unique:

It was conceived as part of the experience of viewing microscopic art.

The collector can display the Pyramid Microscope as a sculpture.

It can also be used to explore the extraordinary scale of microscopic artwork.

This creates a relationship between the object and the artwork that ordinary display systems cannot provide.

THE PERFECT COMPANION TO HAIR PORTRAITURE

Yin Hua Jin's microscopic portraits painted on individual strands of human hair are among the most unusual forms of miniature art.

The Pyramid Microscope was created in connection with this artistic practice.

Therefore, a collector may commission a complete:

MICROSCOPIC ART COLLECTION

including:

01 — Original Hair Portrait

02 — Pyramid Microscope

03 — Custom Display

04 — Artist's Certificate

05 — Documentation of the Artwork

This creates an integrated collection rather than a conventional painting displayed on a wall.
